Upon the approval of the school principal Mr. Reynaldo Visda and the parents of the members, The Harbinger Editorial Board held a staff orientation and planning last December 15 at Room 28 of Limay SHS Academic building.
The orientation’s coverage includes introduction of each member of the editorial board, statement of the noble cause of campus journalism, definition of their designated roles in the organization, the history of The Harbinger, the events and stories that are considered by the campus press organization for publication, and the assignment of tasks to the editors, broadcasters and illustrators.
The Editorial Board initiated the said face-to-face meeting and was approved by the adviser Mr. Jeffrey Gliban and Mr. Visda who both required consent from their parents and strict observation of minimum public health protocol such as wearing of facemasks and physical distancing.
"The importance of The Harbinger's staff orientation is that it establishes a greater foundation of the learner's involved within the organization. It also helps them to grow as individuals," said Aviona Velonta, the Editor-in-Chief of The Harbinger.
"It also helps people [in the organization] to get familiar with each other and with the duties and responsibilities [of each member] in the organization. The staff will improve on better and faster communication that contributes to the efficient implementation of the organization’s plans and providing news/information in a short span of time," the EiC added.
