Motivated by a common goal of exhibiting the culture of excellence, Limay Senior High School (LSHS) and Limay National High School (LNHS) merged their student-performers en route to a first place finish in the district level of Galaw Pilipinas-Category B (secondary students) group dancing competition, May 26.

The group of students from Grades 7, 10, and 11 who competed for the said competition is under the supervision of Ms. Aileen Lumaban from Limay NHS, Mrs. Arlene Evangelista, and Mr. Ver-ann Santos of LSHS.
Marking a convincing win, the LSHS-LNHS tandem received a whopping 96.75 average score from the four judges which created a wide margin to the second placer from
Lamao NHS who garnered an 86.50 average score.
Saint Francis NHS was adjudged as third placer with a 79.00 average score.
The Limayan dancers held four days of rehearsal at Limay NHS’ covered court before submitting the video recording of their performance on May 24. It was judged on May 25 and the results came out the following day.
Their victory qualified them to represent Limay District at the division level of the said competition.
According to one of the teacher-coaches Mrs. Evangelista, the vital factors that helped them in winning the competition are the consent given by the parents of the student-participants from the face to face and modular learning modalities, the teachers who showed great understanding to them while they were out for practices, and the school administrators who helped in the costume, foods, transport service and other expenses.
LSHS students who are part of the winning performance were awarded certificates during the flag raising ceremony last May 30 as an acknowledgement of their valuable efforts in bringing honor to the school.
Joining the Galaw Pilipinas contest is important because it promotes to the students to live healthy and to have an active mind that is helpful in improving their academic performance.
